How much can $100 USD buy in Colombia?

Country Latin America Updated June 2026

$100 USD converts to roughly COP 400,000 at recent exchange rates (the Colombian peso floats; check before travel). In purchasing-power terms, $100 covers more than a week of moderate spending in much of Colombia. Concrete equivalents at typical mid-tier prices: a full week of groceries for one person plus a couple of meals out, or three sit-down dinners for two at mid-range restaurants in Medellin or Bogota, or a one-night stay in a decent four-star hotel in Pereira or Bucaramanga, or roughly two weeks of Uber and metro use in a regional centre. In coastal Cartagena and El Poblado prices run 30 to 50 percent higher, so $100 covers less there. Outside the major centres $100 stretches noticeably further.
